Start your new year with a new career

Why not make your new year’s resolution one that will lead to a variety of job opportunities and a great income? Registering for one of our HGV driving courses could be the best decision you’ve ever made.

A modern profession

HGV driving has changed beyond recognition in the last decade or so. Technological advances have transformed the safety and operation of the vehicles as well as the comfort and convenience of the driving experience. At the same time, demand for drivers has rocketed, causing pay and conditions to become increasingly attractive to new recruits. Even the facilities have been upgraded. The once drab and dirty truck stops have been replaced by swish service stations offering a range of healthy food and amenities for a diverse range of customers.

HGV driving is a growing business. The haulage industry is flourishing, taking on new recruits and expanding into new areas, both geographical and commercial. As eastern Europe opens up to international trade, the opportunities to travel and work abroad are multiplying.

Wide-ranging opportunities

HGV driving covers a multitude of careers. There are jobs to suit every kind of personal preference. City haulers operate within an urban area; regional drivers make trips within their local region, returning home at the end of the day; UK-based long-distance drivers traverse the length and breadth of the British Isles; and continental long-distance HGV drivers get to experience different cultures as they pass through the sights and sounds of foreign lands. With job opportunities in each sector, the choice is yours, depending on your individual needs and requirements.

Quick and easy training

HGV driving isn’t something you have to spend years working towards. Anyone can sign up for a short training course – as long as you’re over 18 and hold a full UK driving licence. There are different types of licence available, depending on the kind of vehicle you want to drive. A Category C licence, for example, qualifies you to drive smaller, rigid bodied vehicles. A Category C+E licence, entitles you to drive large articulated lorries.

At HGV Express, our instructors will take you through all the theory and practical aspects of the training. And, with training centres around the UK, it couldn’t be easier to call in and see our facilities and our instructors at work. As well as expert tuition, we provide extensive support in other aspects of your future career. We’ll even help you find your first job.

So, if training to be an HGV driver sounds like something you’d like to try, make 2018 the year you get your career on the road by contacting HGV Express today.
